That would be the newly opened Bathhouse! a beautiful bathing pavilion facing the sea. In fact, the award-winning spa team at Rockhouse Hotel in Negril, Jamaica, commemorated the launch of the Bathhouse last Tuesday. In addition, the spa celebrated its 10th anniversary, its copping the 2014 World Travel Award for Jamaica’s Leading Spa Resort for the second consecutive year, and the success of its activities programme introduced to Rockhouse guests last November. The activities instructors, artist Ricardo Cope, African drummer Orlando Davis and dancer Henroy Witton, were among those invited.
Managers Charmaine Joy Dennisor & Sheila Haughton-Reid and their team of therapists celebrated with champagne toasts and delightful savoury treats prepared by Rockhouse Executive Chef Warren Rowe. The cocktail party was held poolside at the breathtaking Rockhouse Hotel. Attendees included spa consultant Linda Hall and local partners of the newly launched loyalty program. The team was also rewarded with plaques highlighting their hard work.
The Rockhouse Spa now has three alternative locations for treatments: the Rockhouse Spa Pavilion, an organic, temple-like structure surrounded by lush gardens; the Bath House, a beautiful free-standing pavilion; and ‘On The Rocks’ in the cliff-edge spa cabanas. The Rockhouse Spa features a unique treatment menu and products developed by international spa & wellness consultant Linda Hall. In keeping with the Rockhouse credo of buying and hiring locally, all products used in the spa are made in Jamaica with natural ingredients indigenous to the Caribbean such as brown sugar, coffee, honey and cocoa butter. Even the treatment areas complement these natural ingredients – think: dimly lit rooms furnished with natural woods or cut stone, to cliff-side cabanas where guests can enjoy massages while the waves resound below as the sun sets on the horizon.
