The Spring Equinox, is a time to ignite desire for new beginnings, renewal, rebirth, growth and letting go. Its no secret Spring is my favourite time of year. There is a palpable sense of hope that comes with Spring, increasing daylight hours, gentler winds, trees and plants begin a new cycle of growth, bright happy daffodils are everywhere, butterflies emerge, singing birds and warming temperatures (usually) there is so much to be thankful for. Spring also marks the start of the astrological new year, therefore the energy all round is very powerful. Over the years I have written many posts about spring, flick back through my blog/news-page/Instagram for more information. I know we still have dark days ahead as we continue to navigate our way through Covid, however today - SPRING EQUINOX SATURDAY, I want to focus on uplifting rituals you can do to celebrate! Rituals are a beautiful way to mark the passage of time, commemorate an ending or a beginning (both key elements for Spring) You might like to continue some of the rituals after today to mark your beginning a fresh, vibrant new chapter. Rituals have a profound impact on thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviours, they are also just so beautiful to do. A trip to the spa would normally be on my list for the Spring Equinox, however still in lockdown that’s not possible in the UK. However next month we should be open again. For my global friends who are in the Caribbean nothing better than a spa ritual at Rockhouse Hotel & Spa or Skylark Beach Hotel.
Plant Some Seeds - I like to plant some seeds on the spring equinox (and not just in the garden) What you plant grows: If you are always planting negative seeds such as “I am not good enough” “I am just not lucky” “I am not clever enough” how can you expect abundance, positivity and luck to sprout up in your life? Do some gardening today, plant some seeds both physically and mentally. As your seeds grow it’s a reminder of the mental seeds you planted and what to see bloom… Plant the seeds for a new future, new behaviours, new venture and watch as they all blossom. Nature is such an amazing way to monitor progress. Fun tips; Make this a creative project, use whatever space you have (you don’t have to have a big garden) use bright pots, an inspirational planting design, ignite that window box. Get your children involved and enjoy mother natures wonder together.
Cleansing– You know me, the bathing ritual is one of my most enjoyable cleansing and stress relieving pastimes, this is something you can do as a treat at the end of Spring Equinox Saturday, along with lighting a candle, enjoying a well-deserved glass of chilled and filling in your journal with all the amazing things you have planted today, as the healing essential oils, mineral salts and herbal infusions cleanse away all stress and anxiety! Before we get to the big payoff - think about what you want to let go of? Allow your intuition to guide you, what truly needs releasing from your life? What is not serving you? What patterns, beliefs, behaviours do you need to release? What needs decluttering to free up space? You can arrive at answers to those bigger questions by getting down to some good old fashioned spring cleaning and decluttering (always feels fantastic, fresher, freer afterwards) Use the good old-fashioned decluttering process to dig deeper. Sometimes as you get creative rearranging your home space to boost your mood you find clarity, aha moments spring up as you go through old magazines, cards, books, cupboards, as your mindfully deep cleaning, ideas start to percolate. Stay open, enjoy the cleansing process, your house and mind will thank you in so many ways.
Vision/Dream Boards –I am passionate about this amazing, fun and powerful ritual, it’s one of my absolute favourite things to do to get focused and manifest my heart’s desire! We are hopefully coming out of the final lockdown after 12 full months of putting everything on hold, cancelling plans, not spending because we don’t know if we will keep our jobs, we might have lots family and friends to covid making us rethink everything, our hopes, dreams, visions and desires have all been LOCKDOWN! With the roll out of the vaccine, and as we slowly come out to face our New Future, this ritual might just be the tool you need to help you manifest how you want your life to be moving forward, to ignite those dreams again. Get out the magazines, shoot over to Pinterest and get your vision board goddess groove on. The spring equinox is the perfect day to start that Vision/Dream Board. I will be doing a big blog post on Vision/Dream boards this spring so watch this space.
Aromatherapy – The foundation of my spa brand is built on - Aromatherapy Sensory Therapy, taking spa guests both at home and in spa on a sensory journey… In its simplest form, aromatherapy is the use of essential oils to promote the health and wellbeing of the Mind, Body and Spirit. They are highly concentrated aromatic plant essences, the hormonal life force part of the plant - ‘it’s essence’ if you will! Essential oils are used to enhance the mind, mood and emotions, helping the body heal, re-connect and re-balance. They are natural oils extracted from a variety of plant parts such as the leaves, wood, ‑ flowers, stems or twigs. They enter the blood through the capillary network and circulate throughout the body, affecting the brain via a very clever membrane located at the top of the nose called the olfactory system. This consists of the olfactory bulb, sensory cells and supporting cells. The bulb detects the smell by means of the sensory cells and sends the smell sensations from the nose to the brain, therefore affecting a person’s emotions and thus their quality of life. As such, people gain tremendous benefit, in terms of emotional wellbeing and stress relief, from incorporating essential oils into their lifestyle program. Release is the most popular blend in Spring… Its beautiful green synergy is the perfect aroma - A fresh, uplifting aromatherapy blend designed to inspire, liberate and elevate the mood. With invigorating notes of Basil, Spearmint, Peppermint and Lemon, this euphoric synergy will conjure up inspiration and optimism.
